Kum Haeyun
  • Shinken loops make for really fun combos;
  • Easiest Oki of my life;
  • Neutral done easy with YRC;
  • Only character that makes me want to play Xrd;
  • Funny spin move;
  • Magnificent beard;
  • Is actually an old man robot piloted by girl;
  • Cool fit both inside and outside;
Robert Kyle
  • Robert Kyle;
  • Perhaps the world's worst Robert Kyle???
  • 50% of my play time on +R is messing around with him in training mode and learn nothing;
  • YEARS MANAGING 2 RESOURCES yet NO REAL USE FOUND to go HIGHER than a MID TIER;
  • Is funny robot;
  • "Holy Orders? (question mark)" is the best practical joke in any videogame.
Hsien-Ko
  • Hsien-Ko main of 10 years by the way;
  • Hsien-ko main of 10 years first played Vsav relatively recently, favorite character coincidentally;
  • I'm carried by 2HP and j.MP;
  • Dumbest reversal ever???
  • Massive sleeves filled to the brim with random bullshit are amazing and I love them;
  • Jiangshi are the coolest zombie don't @ me;
  • BIG CLAWS!

  • Instalock when UNI 2 came out, and after trying other characters, justified in my choice;
  • Matches zoner's reach, zones out everybody else;
  • I've churned out the equivalent of dozens of pounds of butter while playing this character;

Hugo
  • Half of his buttons are amazing, the other half are almost or literally useless, I'm carried by st.MP and cr.MP;
  • Claps are so powerful and plus for absolutely no reason and can be used for pokes and pressure
  • Parrying makes him immensely satisfying

  • Playing Heritage for the Future just for him;
  • Sethan's sprites are really funny to me;
  • Baby mechanic is a ridiculously fun win condition

  • Houseware Warrior with the lord's chosen laddle;
  • Bento Oki;
  • Easiest Left/Right mix setup of my life;
  • I've only played Tsukihime Remake so I don't know much about Hisui as a character;
  • I've been spoiled and gaslit myself to be happy;

  • Pretty much always on point;
  • Builds meter like crazy while being able to run decent offense without using much meter in return;
  • BIG buttons that are hilariously safe and pretty much all special cancellable;
  • Basic gameplan goes a long way;
  • Mostly here to fill the team but I do like her aesthetically (and ice powers are fun);

Leona Heidern
  • Anchor thanks to insane metered options, EX Bomb earring is unfair for just a bar of meter;
  • Charge character that forces me to stop jumping and running so much;
  • Charge character with a safe on block lunge so I'm still "running in" too much;
  • Immensely fun to just play this character in general, Metal Slug XX included;

Clark Still
  • My absolute favorite character in this game, he usually goes in the middle, can go anchor;
  • A grappler with good mobility and surprisingly fast buttons with good cancels
  • Guard point command grab for evil Oki, 1 frame command grab AND invincible EX command grab for evil reversals;
  • Football tackle is really funny and the cancel options out of it are incredible;

  • Always on point no matter what;
  • Really fun to do combos with her;

  • Return of Robert;
  • Pumped full of dated cat and robot memes;
  • "Can I having been acquired a cheezburger?"
  • "Bite my shiny metal tail"
  • She really does say both these things and more!
  • Comically low damage;
  • Easiest zoning of my life;

  • Here for the assist and to fill the team;
  • Definitely one of the best fighting game character designs of all time;
  • Fucking kills you if you look at him wrong;

  • Sweet dulcet tones to match the sweet tunes;
  • Brass abomination, coat cloaked body horror;
  • Level 5 Happy Birthday;
  • ARMOR SUPER
Ryu
  • Only character I liked to play in SSBU;
  • Genuinely just awesomely designed gameplay, it justified hundreds of hours of playtime;
  • Got me into fighting games;
  • Got me OUT of platform fighters by doing that...

  • Specifically the GBFV version, I don't like GBFVR;
  • Won me over immediately by just being BIG and has a SCYTHE, how could I NOT pick him???
  • Can buff moves to have armor;
  • Fullscreen safe-on-block armored move;
  • Voice like honey to warm the heart;
  • King Dragon sends his regards;
Mina Majikina
  • Comprised entirely of N E U T R A L buttons;
  • Zoning done easy;
  • It's really fun to say Mina Majikina;
  • Accompanied by annoying pet character which is asked to leave at the start of every fight;
  • Would not main her if it stuck around and made awful noises like it did in previous games.
Seth
  • "MWAH HA HA HA HA HA! MY NAME IS SETH!"
  • "Witness the power of the Tanden Engine!"
  • These quotes are stuck in my brain...
  • Play them because of the move stealing mechanic;
  • Is too bad to actually use the move stealing mechanic to any actual effect;
  • Vaccum move is silly and I love it;
  • Has my kinda buttons (big);
  • Pretty robot.
Taokaka
  • I've played 10 hours of BBCF, included here for the sake of completion since I don't like BBCF;
  • Only character that clicked with me, not even the big body grappler managed that;
  • Fastest character I've ever touched, can't tell what's happening half the time;
  • I'm carried by ability to crawl under mids;
  • Weird cat creature.
